In order to work your calendar feed must be in ics format.
Subscribe to your own calendar so you are aware of how your events look.
Use a Title for your calendar that is short but distinctive (SF Opera, DorkbotSF, etc)
Less is More. Use short descriptions for your events and include a link to more event information or where to buy tickets. Long event descriptions get ignored and people will unsubscribe to your calendar. This short but sweet approach also helps drives traffic to your site.
We recommend that all of your events a posted in a single timezone, even if the events take place in different timezones. Using different timezones can cause unexpected results in your event times.
Repeat Events. Because of how repeat calendar events are coded, we recommend that you only use repeat events if each event is exactly the same. For example, if you have a weekly Happy Hour on Tuesdays from 4-6 each and every week. If the repeat events are even slightly different (time, title, description) we recommend you create a brand new event for each.
Google Calendars only updates every 8-12 hours, so plan accordingly so your subscribers receive your event changes in time.
